A true mentor can have a huge impact on the life of a network marketer. All it takes is some time and a real concern and compassion for others. A mentor IS NOT a babysitter nor are they a financial resource for the experienced or inexperienced marketer. They could become one’s best friend though and that’s worth more than all the success in the world.
A true mentor will spend time listening to the concerns of his or her student. Is this important? Absolutely! Everyone needs someone to talk to and everyone has burdens that need to be shared or maybe even dumped at times. A true mentor will become that dumping ground if need be and will be happy to be there to catch the burdens. Weight lifting is not a prerequisite but it could come in handy!
A true mentor must have focus on the needs at hand of the one that is in search of guidance. This means that the true mentor must be selfless in his or her actions and expectations in regards to the one being mentored. Do you consider yourself to be selfless or are you more selfish in your ways? Being a good mentor involves getting self out of the picture completely and concentrating on the one being that needs mentoring.
Does any of this make sense at all? I hope so!
So, why be a mentor? People in the network marketing business face many challenges. But I believe they can be helped with whatever problems and difficulties that arise in their networking lives by having a true mentor on their side. One that is not afraid of challenges, but looks at them as opportunities. One that always has positive words for any and all situations. A mentor who will be there no matter what, no matter when and no matter why. Ultimately, a true mentor can change the life of a network marketer just by being there and helping them make right decisions.
Let’s talk about this mentoring program and what it will take to get you involved, either as the one doing the mentoring or the one being mentored. It’s an experience you will not soon forget!

Some nice thoughts about mentoring here Eddie – if only they were all like that. However I feel you have missed out one vital element in your list – the mentor should be sharing wisdom gained from their own success. If you have not been successful in business then how can you help others be successful? Would you go into the business jungle with someone who had not been there before and come out the other side? That is actually for me the essential difference between coaching and mentoring. At http://www.chriskaday.co.uk I give free advice to get people started in business and making their first million. Why is it free? Well I don’t need lots of clients but I still need to get the satisfaction of seeing a result.
Hello Chris,
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and I appreciate you taking the time to read my post. You are absolutely right about that most important element I left out. Unfortunately, not everyone in the mentoring business has made a killing online. Most have found out what to do and what not to do that can be very helpful in getting someone who is in the networking jungle out safely on the other side. This is where I am at right now. I don’t know all the answers and I am still learning this business, but what I’ve learned I want to share with others so they won’t make the same mistakes. Thanks again and have a Happy New Year!
